The Universe Is Listening

Greetings from the local neighborhood coffee shop SOLAR DE CAHUENGA.  This is the place where I frequent to get away from my tiny studio apartment to get away whenever I feel inspired to write.  As I’m sitting here sipping on my warm tea on a chilly 51 degree night in the unglamorous and seedy part of Hollywood, CA.

This evening’s blog is about achieving GOALS, making your DREAMS into reality, affirming your AFFIRMATIONS and making things right with THE UNIVERSE.  One of my New Year’s resolutions I said that I was going to do for myself was to start paying attention to my own goals and dreams and stop being the backseat and the vehicle for others.  It’s hard when you allow yourself to fall into a monotonous pattern where you become THAT person that listens to everyone else’s problems or when you become THAT person who works tirelessly with others to achieve THEIR goals and not paying attention to your own.  It’s hard because you think that’s what your purpose is—-just to be the vehicle where you are the passenger and not the driver.  Well, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m going to start paying attention to what my heart is yearning for me to do and that is to start living for ME.  I encourage and implore others who have goals that you want to achieve to challenge yourself to not say (I CAN’T), but rather (I CAN).

What am I putting out in the universe for myself you may ask?  Well, here are a few things that are high on the list that I plan on doing:

• SKYDIVING
• FINISH MY SCREENPLAY
• FINISH MY NOVEL
• TRAVEL SOMEPLACE EXOTIC (GREECE, ITALY, PUERTO RICO, ETC.)
• BECOME A FITNESS INSTRUCTOR
• TALK TO MY FAMILY MORE OFTEN
• WIN AN ACADEMY AWARD

I know the last one may be a bit of a stretch, but hell it can happen and it WILL.  Remember, I’m putting it out there in the universe. In essence, what I’m trying to say is—-you have a voice, use it, you have a voice, speak your mind, you have a voice, don’t let anyone tell you, you can’t do because all that does is give them power over your journey.  They are not traveling on the same road.  If anything, they are derailing you from reaching your destination.  Once your goal is out there, walk (or better yet) stomp with your best shoes on until you get what’s yours and that, my friends, is putting it out there in the universe.
